Elevating custom team apparel and customer experience in 3 simple steps | Industrial Communications Case Study

My name is Emily and I have been the marketing manager at CapsToYou for 2 years. I interviewed Beth Stevens at Industrial Communications about her experience with our company and these are the highlights:

Goals: 

1. Better quality hats and apparel 

2. More on-trend products that appeal to our large demographic of younger employees. 

3. Dedicated salesperson to work with us and know our buying history.

I found the details of Beth's answers to be extremely insightful. Read more below to see how we accomplished these goals!

First, I asked Beth to introduce herself and her role at Industrial Communications:

I am the Marketing Specialist for Industrial Communications, in charge of all branding and apparel for the company. We spend a lot of time and energy on our branded apparel, as we feel it provides a professional look for our staff and increases our brand recognition. We are in the business of wireless communications, where relationship building is paramount - our customers always appreciate great promotional products!

We all have multiple stresses coming at us every day, whether it be work or life. With each job, you have responsibilities that may run through your mind a lot or cause you to lose sleep. I asked Beth if she had any responsibilities where this was the case:

Industrial Communications is currently celebrating its 50th year in business! This is an impressive milestone, so my team and I are constantly trying to find fun and impactful ways to celebrate the Big 5-0. This Fall we are featuring company-wide giveaways of $50 bills and products that are 50 years old - the Rubik's Cube, Bailey's Irish Cream and Post-It Notes, to name a few. Industrial had humble beginnings - our founder started in a small trailer in 1974 - we really want to honor his success, as his story reads like the "American Dream."

Company milestones can certainly be a huge responsibility. Most of them require promo products that celebrate the milestone as Beth said and it's a huge plus if the products are creative and unique. That's where CapsToYou comes in - we have decades of experience working with a multitude of suppliers and customers that celebrate milestones so it's easy for us to take the burden away from you so you can focus on everything else for your celebration. 

One of the bigger reasons that Beth looked for a solution like us is for employee uniforming.

We employ many young people as tower climbers and office staff, and they have an appreciation for hats that are on-trend, and of superior quality. We looked online and found CapsToYou's trucker hat with a branded leather patch - it was a HUGE hit with our employees; every year, we tweak the hat look slightly, and place a new order. The customer support is wonderful, and we always receive our order on-time, and to our specifications. CapsToYou always makes us look good, figuratively and literally!

We obviously are not the only company out there that offers this service. I asked Beth what branding issues she faced and how she searched and compared companies to solve these issues.

We ordered from large promotional product companies, where we were basically "nameless, faceless clients." The products were fine, but the quality wasn't great, and we never had a dedicated representative in customer service. CapsToYou is a much, much better option for us! The quality of CapsToYou hats versus large promotional products companies is incomparable --- the CapsToYou hats are SO much nicer!

Beth then told me about how we have helped their employees feel their best on Employee Appreciation Day:

For more than 30 years, our company has celebrated an "Employee Appreciation Day" at a resort on Cape Cod; employees have the Friday in August off, and we close the company. Employees are encouraged to bring their families for a wonderful celebration on the beach. This Industrial Communications tradition is made better by our CapsToYou hat giveaway - they are always the highlight of our employee gifts!

We love helping teams feel more unified and encouraged within their companies, but it is also important to know how Beth's personal experience is with us:

It's been terrific. The CapsToYou team is always helpful and responsive. This year they even saved us money, suggesting an ACH payment as opposed to a payment with our company credit card. I can honestly say that I have never had an issue with an order, that hasn't been addressed quickly and to my satisfaction. The CapsToYou team has always been attentive and accountable. I cannot say enough good things. 

I wanted to know the greatest success we have had with Beth over the period of time that she has been working with us and if she would recommend us to others:

The ease of ordering! We've built a strong relationship with CapsToYou over the past few years. The CapsToYou staff is great about sending over product suggestions, and mockups of products with our company logo to review. They are also terrific about sending product samples to us for consideration. Finding a supplier of hats and apparel can be daunting - knowing that we can rely on CapsToYou is incredibly helpful!

I would absolutely recommend you! My life is MUCH easier knowing I can connect with my CapsToYou rep, as opposed to going with a big promotional products company.
