Using trends to create buzz for your company | Custom Hats + Brandon Winn Case Study

In today's case study I interviewed Brandon Winn. Here is the goal he had in mind when designing and purchasing custom hats:

Creating a hat that:

1. Stands out from his competition 

2. People want to wear

Brandon, tell me about your role and what you do!

I'm a Realtor in the Des Moines, IA area. I have been an agent for 20+ years. I work with many people, both young and old, and have found that using tangible marketing items like hats and shirts help grow my business. 

What keeps you up at night as it relates to your job?

Not knowing where the next buyer or seller will come from. Most of my business has been new construction but with using a different approach I have turned a lot of my business into a referral based business.

It's definitely important to have promotional products in a referral based business so that you can get a high amount of impressions for a low cost. What was going on at your business that sent you looking for a solution like CapsToYou?

Wanting to find a company that allowed me to work on a design that worked for the look I was going for in today's marketing world. Retro style is in right now so utilizing the patches that you designed I was able to create a retro looking hat that my clients are loving!

Before you worked with us, how did you try to solve the problem?

I worked with another company that didn't really take the time to listen to what I was looking for in a hat. They wanted to use my regular logo and weren't really willing to go outside the box on design. Also communication was terrible. I reached out to Reggie after seeing an ad on Facebook and got a quick response. In fact all of my communication was really quick and I appreciate that!!

What were the top 3 things you wanted to achieve with the new solution?

1. Make a hat that was retro that people would want to wear! 

2. Make a marketing piece that I could hand out to any person that I came across and they would appreciate and know there was quality behind it, not just a cheap piece of advertising that ends up in the trash. 

3. Make my company, and myself, different than my competition. 

Yes, this is a common problem that we love to solve for people. Brandon ended up purchasing the Richardson 112 with an embroidered patch which is the highest quality and the embroidered patch look is a huge trend! 

Brandon, how exactly how have you used your hats and how have they helped your business?

I did post a picture on FB of my girlfriend wearing my new designed hat and had many past, and present, clients reach out asking for a hat. I have delivered about 6 hats in just a few days. Getting them wearing them keeps me top of mind when making a buying or selling decision.

What has been your experience working with our team?

Great. Quick communication and designed the hat just like I had asked. Shipping was quick and everything has been great. The fact that I trust CapsToYou and that I know that I can go back to them to get a quality product just as I have designed.

If you could recommend us, would you and why?

Of course! The fact that you get a response in 24hrs or less helps me keep things moving along. Also working together on a design is huge. Again all goes back to communication.
